This new session of Moments Estel·lars will offer a privileged vision of the strategies that are shaping the future of Catalonia in a world of constant transformation and maximum competitiveness. In this sense, both the Port de Barcelona and ACCIÓ are two magnificent watchtowers to learn first-hand about the health of the Catalan economy and business fabric, as well as the investment interest that the city arouses internationally, which has become a benchmark in multiple areas such as technology and life sciences.

The president of the Port de Barcelona, Lluís Salvadó.

With the president of the Port, Lluís Salvadó, we will address the main transformation projects that the port infrastructure has underway to consolidate itself as the main logistics hub in Southern Europe and as one of the main engines of the Catalan economy, as it generates a value of more than 11,000 million euros. The electrification of the docks, digitalization, new rail accesses, the commitment to fostering the blue economy, and the renovation of the part of the port facing the city to promote greater integration and citizen interaction are some of the major challenges Salvadó has on the table. In this regard, the port-city transformationhas been accelerated thanks to the America's Cup, which in 2024 will be a real boost not only for the Port, but for the entire city of Barcelona, which will revive the Olympic spirit and once again be the center of international attention.

Born in La Ràpita (Montsià) in 1969, Salvadó is an Industrial Engineer from the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Enginyers Industrials de Barcelona (UPC) and has a postgraduate degree in General Business Management from the UOC. He has presided over the Port of Barcelona since November 29, 2022 and, previously, had held management positions for 10 years in the private sector. He was a Deputy for Esquerra Republicana in the Parliament of Catalonia between 2012 and 2015, and between 2017 and 2022. In the field of Administration, he also served as Secretary of Finance of the Government of Catalonia during 2016 and 2017, a period during which he presided over the Agència Tributària de Catalunya, Fira 2000 and Loteries de Catalunya. Previously, he had been delegate of the Government in the Terres de l'Ebre and mayor of the City Council of La Ràpita.

Albert Castellanos, Secretary of Business and Competitiveness and CEO of ACCIÓ.

For his part, Albert Castellanos Maduell, born in 1978, has a degree in Economics from Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and a Master's in Public Economics from the University of York. Most of his professional career has been linked to public management, first within the university sphere at the University of Barcelona (UB), and then at the Generalitat de Catalunya, where he has always been linked to economic promotion areas. In this regard, in 2016 he was appointed general director of Economic Promotion, Competition and Regulation and, a year later, he assumed the secretariat of Finance of the Generalitat within the Department of Economy, of which he was appointed general secretary in 2018. With the constitution of the new Government, in 2021 he changed departments when he was appointed secretary of Business and Competitiveness of the Department of Business and Work, a position he currently holds and combines with his duties at the head of ACCIÓ, the Generalitat's agency for business competitiveness.
