The startup Mediquo, which allows patients to have digital access to doctors 24 hours a day, every day of the week, has raised a total of 2.3 million euros in a financing round, with the participation of most of its previous investors and the incorporation of the Encomenda Smart Capital fund, founded by Carlos Blanco, and the investment platform Dozen Investments, formerly The Crowd Angel. New private investors have also joined.
The resources obtained will be used to consolidate its presence in Spain and Latin America. Created in 2017, the startup will also use them to strengthen some of its latest projects, especially the development of Mediquo Pro, designed for health professionals, allowing them to conduct consultations through a mobile application and a website, and which has already incorporated more than 1,500 doctors.
"This round conveys the confidence of new and important investors in the project and gives us wings to write our next chapter, where we will consolidate our leadership position in telemedicine innovation," explains Mediquo's co-CEO, Bruno Cuevas. For him, the year 2020 has allowed them to consolidate their business model, based on immediate and continuous assistance, and launch new ventures, such as Mediquo Pro, which has led to a 700% increase in sales. In this regard,the president and founder of Encomenda Smart Capital, Carlos Blanco, defends that the telemedicine sector is one of those that has grown the most in the last year due to the covid-19 crisis.Likewise, he assures that the Mediquo platform can be a good solution to connect efficiently with patients.
