MediaMarkt has decided to give a new boost to the global financial services center it established in Barcelona in 2020. The so-called MediaMarktSaturn Global Business Services Spain (MMS GBS) is located at the company's corporate headquarters in El Prat de Llobregat and, currently, its staff already exceeds 350 people from more than 35 nationalities. More than 20 languages coexist in the hub.

According to the leading chain in the sale of home appliances and consumer electronics, since its launch "the international administrative hub has not stopped achieving excellent results," which is why it will now expand both the range of countries and the portfolio of transversal services it offers to the different subsidiaries of the German group. It highlights that, since November, the El Prat center has begun to take on part of the tasks of the billing area for the German-speaking countries of the group: Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.

In parallel, the MMS GBS is also immersed in the transition to take on some accounting areas of MediaMarkt Poland. "The objective of this absorption process is to achieve economies of scale and greater efficiency to continue consolidating itself as a center of excellence, organized by processes," explains the multinational.

"Undoubtedly, the good work done has been key for the MediaMarktSaturn Group to continue trusting in Spain, specifically in Barcelona, and this is a true source of pride for all of us who are part of the company," says Manuela Mengíbar, director of the MediaMarktSaturn Global Business Services Spain.

To cope with this growth in the number of countries and services, the hub will increase its staff by 25 employees this year. "To cover these new vacancies, profiles with analytical capacity are required, who can contribute new ideas and are eager to develop their career in an international environment. In addition to knowledge of accounting, English and ideally Polish," explains Mengíbar, who emphasizes "a plan for the incorporation of new talents, based on a comprehensive accompaniment process and the absorption of the values that make up our corporate culture: passion for innovation, transparency and quality thanks to teamwork."

MediaMarkt has a network of 111 establishments spread across all autonomous communities, with a workforce of 7,000 people. Throughout Europe, the group has 52,000 employees and more than 1,000 points of sale located in 11 countries.
