Mango celebrates the 20th anniversary of its online channel with a forecast of invoicing 800 million euros this 2020, taking into account that in October they already exceeded by 5% the figure obtained last year, which was 564 million euros. Registering sales of 800 million would mean, no more and no less, a 40% growth compared to 2019. Furthermore, for next year, the Catalan multinational has set the goal of achieving 1,000 million euros in digital turnover.

"Reaching 1,000 million euros is something we could not have imagined when we launched our e-commerce in 2000. It is an enormously ambitious goal, but we will put all our effort and enthusiasm into achieving it," explained Mango's Director of Online and Client, Elena Carasso. For the company, its historic commitment to e-commerce is a "clear example" of its commitment to digital transformation and to placing the customer at the center of all its decisions.
Without a doubt, covid-19 has positively influenced the evolution of Mango's digital business. The Barcelona-based firm has added almost three million new digital customers during 2020, with about 900,000 registering during the months of confinement, when turnover increased by more than 50%. Given this situation, the company has reinforced its virtual channel through different initiatives, such as moving more than 200,000 garments from the physical to the digital channel and extending return periods to 60 days.
In parallel, the multinational has made a strong investment in digital marketing, increasing it by more than 30%, and has optimized communications with customers in its database, adapting them to each one's profile.
Founded in 1984, Mango is one of the leading fashion groups in the world. It has more than 800,000 square meters of retail space in about 110 countries. From its design center El Hangar in Palau-solità i Plegamans (Barcelona), the company creates more than 18,000 garments and accessories each year. It closed 2019 with sales of 2,374 million euros, with 24% coming from e-commerce.
