Lego lovers are in luck. Barcelona will host a sanctuary of its mythical pieces and figures, after the Danish company has chosen the city as the destination for its first flagship store ---that is, a very large one--- in all of Spain. It will be located on Paseo de Gràcia, near Plaza Catalunya, and will occupy a former Kiabi premises, which closed a year and a half ago, according to Expansión. Its opening date is no coincidence: before Christmas.
In this flagship store, the multinational will pay homage to the Catalan capital, with a design that will incorporate its modernist architecture and tradition and, as could not be otherwise, its trencadís. There will be "a multitude of references" to the city, the company emphasizes, which has not wanted to specify how it will manage to make the Lego pieces reproduce the Gaudinian aesthetic, leaving all the anticipation for the inauguration. Likewise, the store will have an almost complete offer of its entire catalog, with more than 300 new products each year, and play experiences for visitors.
With the opening of this store, Lego will hire ten workers. The flagship store joins the other two in the city, located in L'Illa Diagonal and La Maquinista. At the state level, the multinational has six stores, distributed between Barcelona, Madrid, Zaragoza and Seville.
