Coinciding with the start of the preseason and the return to training after the current holiday break, on Monday, July 4, the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, will be the protagonist of the third edition of the cycle Moments Estel·lars de la Barcelona Contemporània, organized by The New Barcelona Post and presented by journalist and UPF-BSM professor Toni Aira.

In collaboration with Must Media Group, CASA SEAT and Barcelona Global, the conversation will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the CASA SEAT auditorium. To attend as an audience member and also be able to ask questions to the speaker, it is necessary to reserve a spot in advance starting this Wednesday. To get your ticket, click here.

With Laporta, we will commemorate the 30 years of FC Barcelona's victory in Wembley and review the factors that led to this success and how Cruyff's triumph favored the international projection of the team. That first Champions League not only allowed the club's trophy cabinet to expand but also gave a new impulse to the Barcelona brand in the world. During the conversation with Toni Aira, the Barça president will analyze this role as ambassador of the Catalan capital that the entity exercises and which will be put to the test again this July with the first team's visit to the United States, where they are scheduled to play matches in Miami and New York.

Laporta will not shy away from addressing current issues such as the transfer market, the imminent appearance of the Spotify brand at Camp Nou, or the Espai Barça works and the move to Montjuïc in the 2023-2024 season. The process of redirecting the club's economy will be another central point of the interview after the delegates last Thursday gave the green light to the sale of some of the entity's main assets, such as 49.9% of the subsidiary Barça Licensing & Merchandising (BLM) and up to 25% of television rights.

The conversation with Joan Laporta will be the third chapter of the podcast Moments Estel·lars de Barcelona, inaugurated by Juan Antonio Samaranch and by publicist Lluís Bassat. These first two chapters can now be recovered on Spotify and on the main podcast platforms, and the interviews can also be viewed on The New Barcelona Post's Youtube channel.
