In this year's ranking, IESE has improved two positions compared to the 2019 FT European Business Schools ranking, moving from sixth to fourth position, while Esade has moved up one position, from 13th to 12th. On the other hand, Eada has dropped one position, from 28th to 29th.
The first position in the FT European Business Schools ranking 2020 is occupied by HEC Paris (France), followed by London Business School (United Kingdom) and Insead (France). The Financial Times highlights that French business schools have dominated this year's edition, with four Parisian institutions among the top ten and 22 French schools among the 90 participating.
IESE, Esade, and Eada are not the only business schools in Spain that appear in the ranking, which also includes IE Business School, from Madrid, in 12th position ---tying with Esade---, and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 67th position.
In addition to the quality and variety of the training programs, the ranking also takes into account factors such as salary outcomes and participant satisfaction. To obtain the classification, the British media averages different classifications it compiles throughout the year (of MBAs, EMBAs, Master in Management, Open Executive Education, and Custom Programmes), offering a very complete and multifaceted analysis. Likewise, business schools must participate in all these rankings to obtain a complete score in the FT European Business Schools ranking and are required as an indispensable condition for inclusion to have EQUIS academic accreditation or that issued by the AACSB.
