Holaluz steps on the accelerator in its strategy to become a reference player in renewable energy production through the installation of photovoltaic panels on residential rooftops. The Barcelona-based company has announced that it has decided to undertake an acquisition strategy to build a network of its own installation companies that will allow it to directly control the entire process of placing solar panels and provide better service to its customers.
According to Holaluz, this new strategy foresees the purchase of a minimum of three installers between 2021 and the first quarter of 2022 to "create a hybrid structure of own installers and agreements with trusted local installers" that will ensure the scalability of operations. The energy company highlights that the commitment to directly control the entire process will ensure that installations are carried out with the highest quality, which will contribute to the brand's projection. "This strategy allows us to achieve a dual objective: to deliver an exceptional customer experience and, at a corporate level, to capture the maximum value from this phase," says Carlota Pi, president of Holaluz.
The firm, which has been listed on the BME Growth market since November 2019, has opted to go shopping in the emerging business of photovoltaic installers after achieving that a total of 5,537 customers have entrusted it with the installation of solar panels on their rooftops, an increase of 184.7% compared to June 2020. Holaluz's objective is ambitious, as it plans to reach 50,000 managed photovoltaic installations by the end of 2023.

A year ago, Hola Luz launched a campaign to convince citizens of the convenience of generating their own renewable energy through the commercial campaign The Revolution of Rooftops, with which it aims to "transform every square meter of underutilized rooftops into green energy."
In the last year, the Catalan electricity company has gained one hundred thousand customers, going from 255,543 users in June 2020 to 350,820 recorded at the end of last June. According to Holaluz, 25,300 new registrations have been recorded in the last quarter. "The unpredictable months that the energy sector brings give us the opportunity to demonstrate that our value proposition and quota model make more sense than ever, and the 25,000 new customers this quarter prove it," emphasizes Holaluz co-founder, along with Oriol Vila and Ferran Nogué.
The entrepreneur has also reaffirmed the goal of ending 2023 with one million customers, 50,000 managed photovoltaic installations, and 1,000 MW in representation.
As of March 31, Holaluz's consolidated sales reached 77.98 million euros and the registered Ebitda was 1.53 million euros. In its last fiscal year, closed last September, the company achieved a turnover of 235.9 million euros, with a growth of 13% compared to 208.8 million in 2019. Although it continues to record accounting losses, Holaluz increased its gross margin last year to 27.3 million and its Ebitda to 3.5 million, with growths of 67% and 35%, respectively.
