Hofmann Pastry Shop has won the award for the best establishment in Catalonia, granted annually by the guilds of Barcelona and Girona. The award ceremony will take place this Sunday at the traditional Gala de la Pastisseria, which will recover its usual format after two years of absence and will bring together more than 200 professionals.
Created by chef Mey Hofmann in 2008, Hofmann is a renowned author's pastry shop, with a wide repertoire of individual creations that vary according to the season. Among its star products are the mascarpone croissant and the butter croissant, or the pistachio cake and the cheesecake.
Since its birth in the Born neighborhood, the pastry shop has won other awards such as the best artisan butter croissant (2010), the best tea pastry (2015), and the Fava de Cacau for the best pastry shop in Catalonia (2020, 2021, and 2022). With Hofmann's death in 2016, the business passed into the hands of her daughter, Sílvia Hofmann. Miquel Guarro became the director of the establishment in 2019.
On the other hand, the Professional Career award has been won by the founder of L'Atelier Barcelona, Eric Ortuño. Targarona (Igualada), Sauleda (Sant Cebrià de Vallalta), and La Confiança (Gelida) have been other awarded establishments.
