Fluidra is betting on Portugal and on strengthening its presence and activity in Portuguese territory. The Catalan company has closed an agreement to acquire 100% of the NCWG group, which in the last fiscal year invoiced close to seven million euros.
The operation, subject to the approval of competition authorities, is expected to materialize during the fourth quarter of this year, and will allow Fluidra to expand its product offering and client portfolio in Portugal.
With 40 employees and based in Sintra, the Portuguese group founded in 1998 has collaborated with Fluidra since 2016 and specializes in the distribution of pool products with its own brands and international references, through an extensive logistics network.
With the operation, the founder and manager of NCWG, João Couchinho, will join the Fluidra team to lead the group's business in Portugal. "Since the beginning of our collaboration, we have strengthened our relationship with Fluidra and confirmed that we share the same objectives: to be leaders in our sector," he highlighted.
The integration of NCWG "significantly reinforces Fluidra's positioning and activity in Portugal," according to Carles Franquesa, general manager of Fluidra in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Thus, the operation "will generate significant benefits for clients, suppliers, and employees" of the Catalan company, which operates in more than 45 countries.
