FIATC's division dedicated to the construction and management of residences for the elderly has opened its first center in Barcelona: the Mirador Gràcia residence. With panoramic views of Barcelona from Collserola, the center has 143 residential places and 40 day center places across a total of seven floors.
The residence is the first to obtain Passivhaus certification in Catalonia, which guarantees greater energy efficiency and features such as constant temperature, optimal natural lighting, and adequate air quality.
The building also has solar panels that generate 26% of its annual energy consumption. Its energy efficiency systems will reduce energy costs by 70%, compared to traditional facilities.
FIATC plans to create five new residences in the next five years, in Barcelona, Viladecans, Vilanova, Alicante, and ElcheThe center, ofabout 6,700 square meters, has been inaugurated in an event with the Secretary General of Social Rights of the Generalitat, Raúl Moreno, along with the executive president of FIATC Assegurances, Joan Castells, and the general director of FIATC Residències, Joaquim Rigau.
As Castells highlighted, the center "is the result of public-private collaboration," and has three differentiated living units. "We not only provide reduced living units according to cognitive degrees, but we also build sustainable infrastructures, designed with the user at the center," Rigau added.
Based on this design, the building has seven single rooms and 68 double rooms, and common and outdoor spaces, which include two panoramic terraces and a gym, hairdresser, pharmacy, and activity and visiting room. The center, with a team of 80 professionals, joins a portfolio of five FIATC residences, to which the company plans to add five more in the next five years, in Barcelona, Viladecans, Vilanova, Alicante, and Elche.
