Barcelona is not only explained by its challenges; also by the projects that make it advance. Four years ago, with this conviction, the cycle Moments Estel·lars de Barcelona was born: a monthly meeting designed to highlight those initiatives, people, and projects that make the city work, that generate pride, and that, above all, point towards the future.
The challenge was simple to formulate, but demanding to execute: to gather, once a month, the protagonists of these projects and build a narrative sustained by rigor, ambition, and a deliberately constructive outlook. Inspired by Stefan Zweig, the purpose has always been clear: to explain moments that, beyond their scale, contribute to defining an era.
Over time, the cycle has consolidated as a meeting point for a community that wants to look at Barcelona with ambition and hope. Because journalism is not just a mirror: it can also be a driving force. And optimism, when based on tangible projects, is not naive: it is radically necessary.
In this month's session we focusin one of the projects that best explain this ambition: the Sagrada Família. Not only as a global icon, but as a living and constantly evolving work. Listening to its general director, Xavier Martínez, and the chief architect, Jordi Faulí, was an opportunity to understand the real dimension of a project that combines legacy, innovation, and an unusual long-term vision. Led by Toni Aira, the conversation once again highlighted a fundamental idea:Barcelona is still capable of driving projects of extraordinary complexity when there is vision, leadership, and sustained commitment.In this same vein, the next session ofStellar Momentsit will take us to another key area for understanding the Barcelona that continues to build its future: the hotel sector. With the participation of Javier Faus and Maria Reig, promoters of reference projects such as the Hotel Arts and the Mandarin Oriental, the conversation on May 4 at 6:30 p.m. will highlight how these types of projects have been key toconsolidate Barcelona as a reference city in Southern Europe, both for visiting and for doing business and investing.
Four years after starting Moments Estel·lars, the balance is clear: there are more projects, more voices, and more reasons to explain the city from what works, from hope. And also the certainty that this path has just begun.
This monthly "ritual" has found a home —first at Casa Seat, today CASA CUPRA Raval— and is now part of the agenda of many Barcelonans. And it has also found allies: Must Media Group and Barcelona Global, who share the same vision: that of an open, competitive city connected to the world.
Barcelona is not a resigned city. It is a city on the move. And as long as there are initiatives that make it advance, there will be reasons to explain it that way.
