Damm's master brewers have not missed their traditional appointment with Christmas gastronomy this year. Damm's Christmas Beer is now available, a special and limited edition beer conceived to pair with the typical dishes of the celebrations awaiting us this December. It is a very iconic product for the brand, as the origins of this beer date back to the 1950s, when a few weeks before the holidays, the company prepared a Christmas beer as a gift for its employees, family, and friends.
Over the years, this tradition became an emblem for Damm, which, in 2013, decided to share its Christmas Beer with all its consumers, also selling it in its online store and in various bars, restaurants, and supermarkets. Thus, for the eleventh consecutive year, the product is now available in 66-centiliter bottles that are ideal for gifting and also sharing with friends during the Christmas holidays. In this way, more and more Christmas tables are incorporating this beer as an ideal pairing, as the freshness provided by the hops that give it personality is ideal to accompany hearty dishes such as a chicken roulade stuffed with apple sauce, a beef fillet with mushroom sauce, or a roasted duck with plums and pine nuts. According to Damm's master brewers, Christmas Beer also pairs perfectly with fish and seafood recipes such as, for example, an orange salmon fillet with sweet potato cream.
If we taste the Christmas Beer, we first observe its oak color, with orange reflections. Visually, it also presents itself as a dense and bright beer, with a toasted chromatic layer. If we look at the foam, we see it compact. Likewise, the bubbles are lively, fine, and fast. With the second step, the olfactory, we discover fruity notes reminiscent of, for example, ripe peach and apple. Damm's master tasters also detect orange notes that give the nose freshness, with a finish in which the sensation of toasted bread persists.
Finally, we proceed to take the first sip and notice a broad, characterful entry in the mouth, as we are dealing with a voluminous and creamy strong lager type beer, with an alcoholic content of 6.5%. "The bitterness of the hops provides an intense refreshing sensation", add the tasting experts about the Christmas Beer, who recommend consuming it at a temperature between 5 and 7 degrees. On a scale of 0 to 100, where 10 is not very bitter and 90 is very bitter, Damm's Christmas Beer has a bitterness level of 28 IBUs.
