I have always liked having plants, although perhaps it was during the hardest weeks of confinement when I most valued having the house full. Plants are much more than a decorative element. Numerous studies show that having plants at home has many benefits for our well-being. Not only because they improve the air quality in our homes and reduce static electricity, but also because, among other things, they help us reduce stress, concentrate when we work, and improve our mood.

Plants are living beings and, as long as we dedicate a little attention to them ---a splash of water when we notice the soil is dry, and a little fertilizer, usually once or twice a year---, they can accompany us for a long time. Therefore, we could say that they fill the house with life and keep us company. For some people, their plants are also a kind of memory album, because each one has its own little story behind it: the orchid that has bloomed for you a second time was given to you by a friend when you had a birthday, the money plant you have on the shelf and almost touches the floor was a cutting your sister-in-law gave you, and the lemon tree on the balcony was born from a seed you planted yourself one summer and now it already gives lemons.
It would be very difficult for me to imagine so many hours locked between four walls without my companion plantsWhen you comment to a group of people that you like plantsthere always has to be someone who jumps in and says "ugh, well, all my plants die" or "I'm a disaster with plants."Although it's a bit hard for me to believe ---you don't need to study gardening to have four beautiful plants at home---, perhaps there are people who don't know. However, sometimes, I have the feeling that whoever complains about not being able to keep even a sad ficus alive, deep down what they would like to tell you is that with a life as hectic as theirs, they don't have a minute to waste on something so insignificant. It's usually the same type of person who also likes to boast about not knowing how to cook, considering that spending a morning in the kitchen is for simple people. Anyway, that's their business.
Navarro is like an on-call florist because you know that, if you have an emergency, you can go at any time of the day or nightThe fact is that covid-19 makes us all spend more time at home and, for me, it would be very difficult to imagine so many hours locked between four walls without my companion plants. For me, plants are a primary necessity and, perhaps that's why,it felt especially bad when, at the beginning of the pandemic, I passed by Flores Navarro and saw Barcelona's reference florist shop closed up tight.Navarro is like an on-call florist because you know that, if you have an emergency, you can go at any time of day or night. A few days ago, it reopened its doors with wonderful Christmas decorations that have once again breathed life into a stretch of Valencia street that had become dull and sad. I go to Navarro many times, even if it's just to take a stroll, and I must not be the only one... For a reason, it is known asthe garden of Barcelona.
