Christmas Eve with carols by the Coral Sant Jordi in the heart of the Gothic Quarter

The Gothic Quarter of Barcelona has been home to Hotel Neri since 2003, an establishment owned by the Figueras Costa family that surprises its guests every Christmas with an exclusive offer combining luxury and tradition. To bid farewell to 2022, the hotel managers have prepared an agenda that begins on December 24th and revolves around local craftsmanship.

First, the decoration. A large Christmas tree adorned with local craftsmanship, and with recycling as its leitmotif, welcomes you to the Hotel Neri facilities. The ornaments are the work of Elisabet Urpí (ELIURPI), Tossuda Studio Ceramics, which reuses ceramic fragments as decorations; and Teixidors, a firm that incorporates fashion as an ornament.

The Coral Sant Jordi repeats for the second consecutive year on Christmas Eve at Hotel Neri. At 7:30 PM, it will perform a public concert of traditional carols in the emblematic Plaza de Sant Felip Neri, in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, but, previously, hotel guests will be able to enjoy an exclusive pass in the lobby at 7:15 PM. Among the planned repertoire we find classics such as Santa Nit, traditional songs, El Fum, fum , fum!, or the traditional English song Adeste Fideles among others. The choir directed by Oriol Castanyer i Martí has 75 years of history and more than 1,900 concerts held worldwide.

Finally, the hotel will encourage its guests to welcome the New Year in the emblematic square to the sound of the bells of the Church of Sant Felip Neri, which will be in charge of ending 2022 in the Gothic Quarter.

The flavors of chef Alain Guiard

As it could not be otherwise, Hotel Neri also bets on gastronomy during these dates. A Christmas attraction are the festive signature menus of "a restaurant": by chef Alain Guiard. The creator of La Mundana de Sants, brings a mix of colors and flavors for the most demanding palates. He has designed a special menu to celebrate Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year's Eve that includes dishes such as Normandy oysters, brioche stuffed with spider crab, cod fritter with pine honey, tomato and sobrasada; carabineros carpaccio and crispy sea bass.

Hotel Neri, the only five-star and Relais & Chateaux in Barcelona, is located in Plaza de Sant Felip Neri, within Barcelona's Gothic Quarter. It is a building constructed on Byzantine arches with a legacy of more than 3,000 years old. It has 22 rooms and a range of special spaces: the library that preserves the wooden coffered ceilings and large windows, the Lounge-Bar with views of Plaza de Sant Felip Neri, or the "Roba Estesa" garden on the rooftop, an intimate rooftop within the urban center of Barcelona with a pool and a bar.
