Bon Preu has invested 1.150 million euros in ten years

Bon Preu consolidates itself as one of the leading companies in investment in Catalonia. In the last ten years, the distribution group led by Joan Font has executed investments of 1,150 million euros, according to the count made this Thursday by the company, coinciding with the publication of the closing data for the 2023 financial year.

The family chain owner of Bonpreu and Esclat supermarkets invoiced 2,259 million euros last year, which represents a growth of 8.8% compared to the 2022 financial year, when it exceeded the 2,000 million barrier for the first time, with revenues of 2,076 million euros.

In the last year, Bon Preu has increased its investment volume by 33%, with a total of 145 million. This figure has been allocated to the opening of six new establishments in Barcelona, Lleida, Sitges, Sabadell and Tona. In addition, the group has completely renovated the stores in Tremp, Piera and Sant Celoni. It has also continued to boost its fuel sales division, with the inauguration of two new EclatOil gas stations in Viladecavalls and Sarrià de Ter.

Another of Bon Preu's strategic bets that have absorbed part of the 2023 investment is the deployment of its online sales service, which now reaches five million inhabitants. In parallel, efforts have also been focused on boosting BonpreuEsclat Energia, the electricity marketer created by the Osona company.

Now, the Bon Preu group has 136 Bonpreu supermarkets, 57 Esclat supermarkets, 14 minimarkets and 60 EsclatOil gas stations. According to the company, ten million have also been invested in installing electric vehicle chargers (it already has 400 charging spaces) and photovoltaic panels for self-consumption.
