Banco Sabadell has launched, through its startup support program BStartup, a new initiative aimed at supporting environmental sustainability projects that are in the seed and pre-seed phase. The new BStartup Green focuses on emerging companies that, through technology, can facilitate the transition towards a more sustainable society model.

With this new program, three emerging companies will be selected that will receive an investment of 100,000 euros each, resources that will be used to validate their technology and business model.

The projects will be chosen with the help of a commission of experts; the first call is already underway and will be open until May 9. The selection of projects that will receive this investment of 100,000 euros can be linked to solutions for energy transition, industry 4.0, smart cities or circular economy.

"The ecological transition is one of the biggest and most pressing challenges we face as a society and, at Banco Sabadell, we want to support companies that, through innovation and technology, will facilitate and accelerate the necessary processes," comments the director of BStartup, Yolanda Pérez.

Sabadell already launched in 2018 BStartup Health, a program aimed at health projects. Three editions of the program have been convened, with a total of 390 applications, of which nine have received investment from the program. Admit Therapeutics, Able Human Motion, CreatSens, Oxolife and MiWEndo are some of these nine companies that received support from BStartup.
