Badi continues to boost its business lines linked to flex-living. The Barcelona-based company has raised seven million euros, in an operation divided between capital and debt. The investment fund Barlon Capital has led the capital raising, with five million euros, while the loan, for another two million, has been signed with Banco Santander.
The startup will invest the new resources in the development of its three verticals: the room rental platform between individuals; its Badi Plus division, specialized in exclusive room rentals managed by the company's team, and Badi Getway, its new business line with which it seeks to operate hotel and medium-stay assets.
The operation "not only represents a validation of Badi's strategy and vision, but also provides the necessary resources to accelerate its growth and consolidate its leadership in the sector," according to the CEO and co-founder of the company, Carlos Pierre. Given this growth, Barlon Capital has once again bet on the company, after entering its capital in 2023. "We want to continue supporting them in their ambitious growth plan to consolidate their position as a benchmark in the sector and expand their operations," according to the co-founder of the venture capital firm Javier Rubió.
Badi expects to bill ten million this year and is in talks with potential financial partners to acquire new assets in the real estate marketThrough its three verticals, Badi currently has more than 700,000 rooms published on its app, which has accumulated nearly five million downloads, as well as more than 300 beds from Badi Plus, which aims to reach 800 by the end of this year, located in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, and Malaga. Additionally, through Badi Getaway, it has inaugurated the first hotel operated by the company, the Boutique Hotel Castell de Vallgornera.
And the startup does not close doors to other possibilities: "From Badi we are open to exploring new opportunities, both in urban environments and in locations outside of cities," according to Badi's CEO, who founded the company with Álvaro Córdoba. And it is that "the company has the experience and the necessary team to commercialize and operate all types of real estate assets," as Pierre states, after the company has achieved a positive ebitda, in a context in which it is positioned as one of the possible future Catalan unicorns.
In this line of growth, Badi expects to bill ten million euros this year, in an exercise in which it plans to strengthen its technological division and in which the company is in conversations with potential financial partners with an eye on directly acquiring assets in the real estate market.
