The Manresa-based company Ausa has created 45 new jobs with the start of production of electric industrial vehicles for the construction, industry, agriculture, gardening, and municipal services sectors. The project has involved an investment of 3.1 million euros and has received 200,000 euros in aid from the Generalitat's agency for competitiveness, Acció.

Specifically, Ausa has designed two vehicles that run on lithium batteries: a dumper, a type of tipper for transporting materials, and a telescopic handler. The new products will be exported to countries in Northern Europe and the United States.

The new dumper and telescopic handler have 1,500kg and 1,600kg of load capacity and are equipped with batteries of up to 12.4 kWh and 18.6 kWh. They can be charged directly from the electrical grid, are almost completely silent, and generate no emissions. These characteristics, among other things, will allow them to work at night or in emission-free spaces.

Ausa's CEO, Ramon Carbonell, has assured that the new project responds "to society's cry for sustainability." "It allows us to demonstrate that, thanks to innovation, industrial companies can continue to generate quality jobs while helping to decarbonize society," adds the executive, according to ACN.

In this regard, he stressed that it is "a first step" for electric mobility to become "a priority" in the immediate future. "We are very, very clear that the future is electric. The technology is there, it's on the market, and we master it," Carbonell added.

With the new project, Ausa also aims to boost the company and position it globally. In fact, the company recently opened a new assembly line for the production of telescopic handlers to meet the growing demand for this product, especially in the United States. Ausa opened a subsidiary in this country in 2015 and has closed agreements with some of the most important companies in the sector worldwide. It foresees that, in a few years, the US will become its primary global market.

Founded in 1956, and owned by the Perramon, Vila, and Tachó families, Ausa is dedicated to the design and production of compact industrial vehicles and currently has a workforce of more than 300 employees, 40 of whom are R&D engineers. With a production capacity of over 12,000 vehicles per year, it is headquartered in Manresa and has subsidiaries in France and the United States, as well as representative offices in the United Kingdom, Germany, and China. It exports 70% of its production to 90 countries worldwide. Ausa had a turnover of 87 million euros in 2021 and has set the goal of reaching 120 million in 2026.
