Art galleries claim they are also #SafeCulture

Enter. La Galeria és cultura is the message that art galleries are sending to encourage citizens to visit them. After the restrictions due to covid-19 have been tightened without affecting culture, these spaces ask to be taken into account when looking for leisure proposals.

Galeries d'Art de Catalunya and Art Barcelona, with the support of the Department of Culture, want to make their voice heard, highlighting that culture is not only found in cinemas, theaters, and museums. Art galleries remind that they are also safe spaces and are open to everyone, and invite people to come in.

"Catalunya is a country open to all cultures and trends, culture is a bet on the future," defends the president of the Galeries d'Art de Catalunya association, Mònica Ramon. "Art is a window open to other worlds and times. And we have it closer than we think," she remarks. For his part, the president of Art Barcelona, Àlex Nogueras, points out that galleries are spaces "where culture can be experienced in situ."

Modern, contemporary, national and international art in the same neighborhood where one lives, in the same city... Each gallery is a small museum with free admission, explain the entities promoting this initiative. Where to grow as individuals and society. "Safe spaces that allow us to enjoy a moment of reflection, pleasure, learning, and transformation," concludes Nogueras.
