26% of European companies with more than 10 employees have purchased cloud computing services this year 2018, compared to 21% in 2016 and 19% in 2014, according to data recently offered by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.
Large companies are the ones that make the most use of "cloud computing". Thus, 56% of European companies with more than 250 employees have purchased cloud computing services this year, compared to 23% of companies with between 10 and 49 employees.
By country, the Nordic countries are the ones that use cloud computing the most. Finland (65%), Sweden (57%), Denmark (56%) and Norway (51%) lead the ranking.
At the bottom of this ranking are Romania and Turkey (both with 10%) and Bulgaria and Bosnia and Herzegovina (both with 8%).
Spain, with 22% of companies, is four points below the European Union average.
The most used "cloud computing" service was email, very closely followed by file storage. Slightly below is the use of office automation applications, and with lower usage appear services such as financial and CRM applications.
