The Ametller Origen group continues to grow, and it does so in double digits. The family company recorded record sales in 2024, with a turnover of 680 million euros, 23% more than the previous year. This increase stems from better performance of its establishments, the boost from its central workshop and its agricultural division, as well as the development of its commercial network: last year it added ten new stores.

In fact, the main driver of this growth is precisely the stores. Its establishments invoiced almost 600 million, with an increase also of 23% compared to the previous year, and not only due to new stores, but due to an increase in sales in existing ones, of 14%. "Practically all the growth has been generated by a greater volume of sales, and not by price," assured the CEO and co-founder of the group, Josep Ametller.

The group, which has 1.2 million customers ---with a community that has grown 77% in five years—, has reached a market share in fresh produce of close to 8%, compared to 6.8% in the previous year. The company's total market share also increased last year, reaching 3.6%.

In its establishments, one type of product stands out: half of what goes through the checkout corresponds to fruit and vegetables. "We have managed to increase sales in this category by 20%, which represents 41% of the business of our establishments," according to Ametller.

In addition, the range of prepared dishes has also grown especially, reaching a market share of 9%. With these dishes, its Olèrdona workshop has increased its turnover by 20%, to 31 million euros, with 30% of its production sold to other supermarket chains.

For its part, the agricultural branch of the group has raised its turnover to more than 72 million, 10% more than in the previous year, with products in more than 1,800 hectares spread across the Mediterranean axis. Beyond its commercial network, the group is responsible for the gastronomic management of institutions such as the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, as well as schools through the design of daily menus and the supply of products. In addition, its division specialized in restaurants and hotels has increased sales by 30%, through more than 500 clients.
