Accenture, one of the largest international business consulting firms with clients in 120 countries, has strengthened its presence in Catalonia with the acquisition of Alfa Consulting, a company specialized in providing advice to the industrial sector on operations and supply chain matters.
Headquartered in Barcelona and with offices in Madrid and Mexico, Alfa Consulting was founded by industrial engineer Ramón Fontanals and currently has 52 consultants who are now integrated into Accenture's global Supply Chain & Operations division. This transaction comes at a time when proper management of the logistics chain and operations is a central element for any company, as demonstrated during the pandemic, the supply crisis of certain raw materials, and increasing geopolitical complexity.
According to Accenture, the acquisition of Alfa Consulting should contribute to improving the service provided to industrial and capital-intensive companies so that their supply chains are "more resilient, flexible, agile, and sustainable."
"Joining Accenture offers great possibilities for both our clients and our employees. On the one hand, it allows us to offer a complete range of services that complement our offering, with advanced technological solutions and platforms, and on the other, the wide variety of opportunities for professional development that our partners and employees will gain," said Joaquín Escoda, president of Alfa Consulting.
