The clothing brand has decided to bet on the La Maquinista shopping center to introduce in Spain the new commercial format with which it plans to operate from now on in the world. The new opening is expected to generate about 50 jobs. Abercrombie & Fitch is currently immersed in a global restructuring plan of its network of establishments, which will lead it to close in the coming weeks the large flagship stores it owns in Madrid, Brussels (Belgium), London (United Kingdom), Paris (France), Munich, Dusseldorf (Germany) and Fukuoka (Japan).

Abercrombie & Fitch will arrive in Barcelona after only being present in Spain with its flagship in Madrid, inaugurated in 2011, and with two stores of its children's line Abercrombie Kids, also located in the capital of Madrid. The multinational also owns the Hollister brand, which has about ten establishments in the country, including one in La Maquinista. According to Modaes, the Abercrombie store in Madrid will close at the end of the year.
The La Maquinista establishment will also be the brand's first experience in a shopping center in Spain. It will be located in the future and renovated Fashion Zone of the shopping center, which this year celebrates 20 years, once its remodeling is finished, which is expected to end in early 2021. "We are excited to bring the first Abercrombie & Fitch store experience to our customers in Barcelona," says Daniel Le Vesconte, global vice president and director of the EMEA division of the Abercrombie & Fitch Co. group.
