The impact of the pandemic and confinement on Volava's activity is evident: its sales have multiplied tenfold in the last twelve months. Faced with this upward trend, the startup has closed a financing round with the aim of responding to it and continuing to advance in its internationalization process. The round, for an amount of two million euros, has received contributions from Spanish venture capital funds and has been led by Inveready, JME, and Wayra.

Founded in Barcelona in 2017 by Joel Balagué, Volava has popularized the home fitness concept. The company designs and markets various cycling, boxing, and running systems, which are complemented by live and on-demand virtual fitness classes. It has a recording studio in the Catalan capital and a team of about forty employees.
