The Teatre Raval has announced its program to open the 2026/27 season with a firm commitment to its own productions and the recovery of texts by very relevant artists.

july 17, 2026

After the recent reopening of the space, Teatre Raval presents its new season with the proposals that can be seen from September to January. The artistic direction of Pep Tosar and Evelyn Arévalo (from the company Olvidaos de nosotros) focuses on self-production, complicity with like-minded companies, and a clear artistic identity, faithful to its essence.

On stage, we will find proposals of high literary level, historical feminism, and poetic memory, by artists such as Woolf, Miguel Hernández, Blai Bonet, or the 30th anniversary of the Cia. Roberto G. Alonso.

The season will officially kick off on September 16 with the revival of A Room of One's Own, Virginia Woolf's text, directed by María Ruiz and starring Clara Sanchis. The show combines text and live music and returns to Barcelona coinciding with the 10th anniversary of its premiere.

From October 7, the space will host the new major production by the resident company Olvidaos de nosotros: Vientos del Pueblo. Directed by Pep Tosar, with joint dramaturgy with Evelyn Arévalo, this piece reconstructs the poetic, vital, and tragic universe of Miguel Hernández. The work combines textual interpretation, live music, documentary video, and the presence of the emblematic contemporary dancer Andrés Corchero.

On November 17, Teatre Raval will exhibit Yo, travesti by Cia. Roberto G. Alonso. The Barcelona-based company celebrates its 30 years of trajectory on stage by reviving this production. Halfway between theater, music, and dance, Yo, travesti is a festive, but also very political, piece that pays homage to the art of drag and some of the most celebrated figures of the transvestite subculture and resistance in our history.

The closing of the program coincides with the centenary of the birth of the Mallorcan poet and novelist Blai Bonet (born December 10, 1926). To commemorate this artistic event, Teatre Raval revives La casa en obres, the mythical show directed by Pep Tosar that originally premiered at the Grec Festival de Barcelona in 1998. Now it is presented completely reformed, with a new cast, a renewed staging, and from an updated perspective.

Cabaret and local music in Raval

The small hall of Teatre Raval will host more intimate and experimental pieces, such as Noli me tangere. The company El Nen Congelat presents a return to cabaret understood as a space of absolute freedom, mockery, and reflection on our own vanities. Between songs, improvisations, and incisive dialogues, the show traces a portrait of a society that prefers appearances and prefabricated dreams rather than accepting its own contradictions.

On December 12 and 19, it will be the turn of LaLorea. The Canary Islands singer-songwriter, established in Barcelona for more than two decades, celebrates 25 years on stage with her most personal and mature musical project. Accompanied by a formation of four top-level musicians, she will offer a varied repertoire where bolero, neighborhood rumba, and Latin son intertwine with singer-songwriter music.

Music and author flamenco with Les Grans Blue Nits

The new management's commitment to live music is consolidated this season in the Sala Tadeusz Kantor through the special format of Les Grans Blue Nits. On October 17, flamenco singer-songwriter Ana Brenes will take the stage to present her new studio album, Mientras camino, live.

Brenes is one of the most honest voices of the new Barcelona flamenco scene and proposes a journey that draws from the purest tradition, but dares to incorporate social poetry and self-criticism. The artist will be accompanied on guitar by Toni Abellán.

The new season of Teatre Raval is designed to move us, shake us, and remember some of the most poignant voices in the history of literature. A golden opportunity to reconnect with these artists in a close, warm, and very welcoming venue.
