Veritas has allied with Decathlon to boost the sale of organic products and explore new growth channels. The Barcelona-based chain has reached an agreement with the French giant of sports stores to open a Veritas space within the Decathlon in Rivas-Vaciamadrid, considered the largest in Europe, with an area of 12,000 square meters.
From this weekend, more than a thousand organic food products provided by Veritas can be purchased at this Decathlon center and, if the initiative is successful, it could be replicated in other establishments of the sports goods chain, which would allow Veritas to multiply its distribution network and boost its growth. "Decathlon and Veritas want to highlight their commitment to a healthy, ecological and also sustainable lifestyle," says the company chaired by Silvio Elías.
Veritas was born in Barcelona in 2002 at the hands of several Catalan investors, among whom are the Elías families (former owners of Caprabo), Pont (Borges) and Esade professor, Carles Torrecilla. The chain currently has a network of 80 points of sale and has grown with the acquisitions of Anna Ecológica and Ecorganic. It operates in Catalonia, the Basque Country, Navarre, the Balearic Islands, Madrid, the Valencian Community and Andorra. Veritas' turnover reached 106 million euros in 2020, a year in which five new stores were opened and the workforce was increased to 770 people.
