The UPF BSM is the first business school in Spain accredited by BGA

The Barcelona academic center increases its international projection and becomes the eighth European school to obtain recognition from the Business Graduates Association

Barcelona consolidates and expands its international reputation as a reference city for business schools. The UPF Barcelona School of Management (UPF-BSM) has been recognized with the Business Graduates Association (BGA) accreditation, a quality distinction that ensures the highest standards in business schools worldwide, and has achieved reaccreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) for its programs related to Management and International Business.

Obtaining the BGA seal positions UPF-BSM as the first and only accredited business school in Spain and the eighth institution in Europe to obtain this accreditation. Meanwhile, globally, this distinction places UPF-BSM among the 43 business schools recognized by BGA worldwide. AMBA has also reaccredited UPF-BSM's Management and International Business programs, including the Executive MBA, the Full Time MBA, the MSc in Management, the MSc in International Business, and the Master in International Business.

"This achievement reflects UPF-BSM's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and quality in teaching. The internationalization of our school is a fundamental pillar in our educational mission, as well as the continuous commitment to the quality of our master's degrees, ensuring their positioning at the highest international level," highlighted José M. Martínez-Sierra, general director of UPF-BSM.

According to Martínez-Sierra, both accreditations recognize global institutions for their excellence and potential, committed to responsible management practices that generate a positive impact on their students, communities, and local economies.

AMBA & BGA emphasize that UPF-BSM has managed to forge a solid reputation thanks to its continuous growth and development. This achievement is attributed, for example, to the commitment to the constant improvement strategy of the university's and school's senior leadership, who are advancing in the implementation of an ambitious and constantly evolving strategy.

"Obtaining reaccreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) is a recognition of academic rigor and innovation in teaching the leaders of tomorrow. It is, without a doubt, a significant milestone that drives us to continue exceeding expectations, exploring new opportunities, and adapting to a constantly changing business environment," added the dean of UPF-BSM, Llorenç Bagur.

Other elements that have been valued have been research successes, both in terms of quantity and quality. In addition, these certifying entities emphasize that the Barcelona school has made significant progress in promoting gender equality among its faculty, demonstrating its commitment to diversity and inclusion.

The academic institution holds two of the three most prestigious academic accreditations in the sector, AMBA and EQUIS. Likewise, both the Financial Times ranking and the QS Executive MBA have recognized its global impact on both students and the social and business environment.
