The French tech company Papernest will take advantage of the relocation and unification of its offices, which were spread across Barcelona, into a new location in 22@ to strengthen the operations center it has in the city, which has gained weight within the group since its arrival in the Catalan capital in 2018.

If back then it was a delegation with 40 people, currently there are 700 employees and they will exceed 900 by the end of 2023. The team works on the platform that the startup devised so that companies can centralize and simplify the management of subscriptions and contracts for various services, such as electricity, Internet, insurance, or mobile telephony. In this way, in a single space, the platform simplifies the processes of change of address, contracting, or cancellations.

The company wants to further boost this Barcelona hub, which has become a global operations center for the entire European market. In fact, the center's role is highlighted given that Papernest has a global workforce of 1,000 employees, 900 of them in Barcelona. In this way, the Catalan capital has become the company's "most important" headquarters, ahead of the offices in Paris and Reims, according to its CEO and co-founder Philippe de la Chevasnerie.

"We established ourselves in Barcelona in 2018 with the idea of entering the Spanish market, but today it already serves all the markets where we operate." In fact, according to its leader, "we ended up choosing Barcelona as our European strategic hub for several reasons: the technological ecosystem, the quality of life, the ability to attract talent, and its international dimension."

Founded in France in 2015 by Philippe de la Chevasnerie and Benoît Fabre, the company currently operates in the markets of France, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Germany, and provides services to 1.3 million clients, of which about 180,000 are in the Spanish market. The startup, in its beginnings, was called Souscritoo.

The hiring of between 200 and 300 more professionals will be feasible thanks to the opening of new offices in Barcelona, which have 6,000 square meters in the 22@ district. It is a unique building, which has been named Knem, because it corresponds to the rehabilitation of the old El cànem spinning factory, located on Ramón Turró street. The property is owned by the G3T company, Carmen Godia's family office, and has undergone a comprehensive renovation by the b720 Fermín Vázquez architecture firm and marketed by Urban Input.
