The American technology company Dynatrace has announced this Monday the creation of up to 180 new jobs in Barcelona in the next 3 to 5 years, which will be added to the 220 employees it currently has in the Catalan capital. The company has its Southern Europe R&D center in the Torre Glòries and is specialized in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to guarantee the operation of other companies' services.

The multinational, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, plans to hire mainly engineers specialized in software development, although profiles linked to the fields of finance, human resources, and other business areas will also be incorporated, reports ACN.

"Barcelona is an important location for Dynatrace: we have grown a lot here since we opened our first office with a team of 15 people," added the Lab Lead Barcelona of Dynatrace, Pol Fenollar, who spoke of annual growth rates around 30%. "We hope to expand our footprint in Barcelona and strengthen our relationships with the local community of which we are part," commented Fenollar.

"The Government has the vocation to accompany and attract strategic investments in Catalonia that help improve the country's economic and technological competitiveness. And Dynatrace is an example in this sense," pointed out the Minister of Business and Labor, Roger Torrent. "Years ago this company established its research and development center for Southern Europe in Barcelona and now they have expansion plans with the potential to create up to 180 quality jobs," celebrated Torrent. "Catalonia is positioning itself even more as a technological hub and a pole of attraction for new talent thanks to bets like Dynatrace's," noted the head of Business of the Generalitat, who recalled how in 2022 foreign investments in Catalonia grew by 2.8%.

"We have surpassed pre-pandemic figures, in a very positive dynamic. We already have 9,155 subsidiaries of foreign companies in our country, we want to grow more and we have set ourselves the goal of reaching 10,000 in the coming years," concluded Torrent.

With headquarters in the United States and its main R&D center located in Linz (Austria), Dynatrace currently has 4,200 employees internationally.
