The Chinese brand Lynk & Co has arrived at Paseo de Gràcia in Barcelona with the opening of its innovative club, a new generation of vehicle dealerships where the exhibition of cars has given way to community spaces where one can have a coffee, do coworking, hold events, exhibit works by local artists and products from brands that convey creativity. But it will also be possible to see and take a test drive and sign up for the exclusive monthly fees of the Lynk & Co 01 model.
The Chinese car brand, founded in 2016, belongs to the Geely Group, owner of car brands such as Volvo. The new meeting point to share sustainable mobility experiences, the brand's first in Spain, will open next April, at number 44 of one of Barcelona's main commercial arteries.
The Chinese-Swedish automaker has other establishments of these characteristics in Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, Stockholm, Hamburg, Gothenburg, and Antwerp. The Barcelona club has been designed in collaboration with Masquespacio, a Valencian design studio, which has combined the brand's characteristics with Barcelona's local style, as Lynk & Co has explained without wanting to reveal the characteristics "yet".
The club in the Catalan capital will reproduce a formula for marketing Lynk & Co vehicles, based on shared mobility and subscription. That is, the client can acquire the vehicle with a traditional purchase, but can also enjoy it through a payment of 500 euros per month for the subscription modality. This formula allows the use of a vehicle where and when necessary, being able to re-rent it to other authorized members of the club while the car is not being used. In addition, this modality has no permanence, so after the subscription period, the contract can be canceled.
The Lynk&Co range currently has a single vehicle for sale called Lynk&Co 01. It is a compact hybrid SUV model, based on the same modular platform that Volvo uses for its cars. The company has reported that in Spain it already has 4,000 members, with more than 600 Lynk & Co 01 cars circulating. Throughout this year, it plans to open an establishment in Madrid.
Coinciding with the announcement of the installation of this system in Barcelona, the brand's CEO, Alain Visser, explained that the Barcelona club is a great milestone for Lynk & Co "on which we have been working for some time." "Spain is a vibrant market and we will continue to grow with this new physical space. The club will be the best meeting point for everyone who is willing to explore a new concept of mobility where experience prevails above all else," he adds.
