The Perelada Festival has closed its 37th edition with sold-out tickets for all concerts and shows, featuring great moments starring maestro Jordi Savall, flamenco dancer Ana Morales, soprano Nuria Rial, tenor Freddie De Tommaso, and director María Goiricelaya. Despite the brief and concentrated program, from July 28 to August 5, just over a week, the musical event in l'Empordà positively assesses this year's balance, awaiting the return to its usual duration once the new auditorium is completed. The goal is for this to be the case by next summer.

"It has been an intense and concentrated festival, which has allowed us to maintain ties with artists and our audience, always with the level of excellence that is already a hallmark of the house and in spaces with an intimate format, such as the church, and a medium one, such as the Mirador del Castell, stages that unfortunately could not accommodate all the public who wanted to join us," says its artistic director, Oriol Aguilà.

Once this edition is over, it is expected that construction on the new auditorium can begin, which will replace the temporary structure that has historically been used as a stage at the festival. With the new construction, the gardens of Castell de Perelada will have a permanent creative space.

In addition to this, the festival has already announced some names for the second Easter edition, which will be held from March 28 to 30, 2024. The premiere of the work Tenebrae Responsoria (Feria sexta in Parasceve) by Catalan composer Joan Magrané will be the highlight of this preview of the 38th Perelada Festival, which will also feature the performance of the choir and orchestra of the Opéra Royal de Versailles, under the direction of Chloé de Guillebon.
