Park Güell will host a comprehensive cultural program during the months of June, July, August, and September with activities that have the history of the city as their transversal axis.
Organized in collaboration with the Barcelona History Museum (MUHBA), the objective is to offer new opportunities for citizens to enjoy this emblematic space designed by Gaudí.
The Plaça de la Natura will become a large musical stage, on the occasion of the ninth edition of the cycle History and Music of Barcelona, organized in collaboration with the Catalonia College of Music (ESMUC). This year, from mid-June to mid-July, the program is titled Music, War and Radio Barcelona, as it recovers part of the works and musical styles that were played on Radio Barcelona during the Civil War: free concerts performed live by the station's symphony orchestra, chamber and lied ensembles, as well as dance, jazz, and classical music.
There will also be time for film screenings from the cycle Barcelona in motion, cinema nights which, in its fourth edition, also wants to dedicate itself to the city's trajectory within the world of cinema. For this reason, with the title Barcelona set: when the city is the stage, the projection of cinematographic works that have been largely filmed in Barcelona is planned, and which have given prominence to the urbanistic and orographic characteristics of the city.
The cycle in June and July has also scheduled screenings of titles such as Life in Shadows, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, and The Machinist. Perfume: The Story of a Murderer and The Machinist will be in original version with Spanish subtitles. All screenings will be free, always with prior reservation.
The park will also reinforce its guided tour offerings in the coming months. During the month of June, these visits can be made every Friday and weekend, while in July and August they will be available every day of the week. The tours can be conducted at different times in Catalan, Spanish, English, and French, and the price of the visit will be 22 euros, which includes both general admission to Park Güell and the specialized guide service.
Collaboration with the Barcelona History Museum (MUHBA) also includes the creation of itineraries within the park, which will cost 2 euros and last approximately between 1 and 3 hours. They will address different aspects related to the park's evolution, its link with the city, and the evolution of nearby neighborhoods at the beginning of the 20th century.
