Spaces, like suitcases and elevators, have a limited capacity. There comes a point when nothing else fits, no matter how much someone insists on pressing the button, or pushing with all their might.
But cities don't understand limits. When it seems like no one else fits, they are still making room for one more. On the street, on the terraces, on the balconies, on the rooftops, in the shade of the trees... Some even claim that citizens have been seen queuing to occupy a piece of sidewalk.
And here, in Barcelona, the most curious thing is that no one seems to have any intention of leaving. On the contrary: every day someone arrives, with their heart full of Barcelona, asking if there is still room.
– Of course! Come, we'll make room for you!
