The Hospital Clínic de Barcelona is one of the top 25 hospitals in the world and number 1 in Spain, according to a ranking prepared by Newsweek magazine in collaboration with Statista. Specifically, the center in Barcelona's Eixample district occupies the 21st position in the ranking World Best Hospitals 2020, led by the Mayo Clinic and the Cleveland and Massachusetts hospitals, all three in the United States.
The classification includes centers from more than twenty countries around the world and also places the Clínic as the best hospital in Spain. The Cardiovascular Clínic Institute (ICCV), the Digestive and Metabolic Diseases Clínic Institute (ICMDM) and the Hemato-oncological Diseases Institute (ICMHO) stand out, appearing in the guide World's Best Specialized Hospitals 2021.
The ICCV is in position 38 of the best services in Cardiology, the ICMDM is in position 40 in Endocrinology and the Medical Oncology Service of the ICMHO is on the list of the 200 most relevant in its specialty worldwide.
Clínic is also the best hospital center in Spain, followed by Hospital Universitario La Paz in Madrid (in position 41 in the world) and Clínica Universitaria de Navarra (49).

According to Newsweek, the ranking of best hospitals in Catalonia also includes Hospital Sagrat Cor, Hospital del Mar, and Hospital General de Catalunya.
