The healthtech startup Isensi has closed a financing round in which it has raised 700,000 euros. The operation was led by EconomistesBAN, the private investor network of the Col·legi d'Economistes de Catalunya. The round, in which other investors also participated, will allow the company to launch its international expansion and materialize its growth forecasts.

The startup, based in Sant Cugat del Vallès, specializes in offering innovative solutions aimed at improving the quality of life of dependent people or those with reduced mobility. In this vein, Isensi has developed a multisensory and cognitive stimulation cabin that, under the name Lucía, aims to contribute to improving the quality of life of its users. It does so with the support of the team of therapists from the center where this equipment developed by the startup, created in 2017 by its current CEO, engineer Eduard Segura, who decided to promote this project after visiting his grandmother in a nursing home, is located.

The startup, which has the support of companies such as Fluidra, expects to obtain a turnover of over 800,000 euros this year, and 1.7 million in 2025. The Sant Cugat company wants to scale up to 3.5 million in 2026 and, looking ahead to the next five years, expects to reach 25 million in turnover.

It expects to achieve this with its cabin, which combines personal hygiene and hydrotherapy. With no competitors in the market, it has been designed to offer the user a wellness experience. To this end, it is adapted for people with reduced mobility, has an ergonomic design, and offers a half-hour cycle with customizable programs depending on the user's needs. In addition to providing hydromassage experiences, the cabin incorporates treatments with essential oils, music therapy, and chromotherapy, which can be offered depending on the user's emotional state.

Opening to new markets

Isensi focuses its market mainly on residences, nursing homes, and hospitals, and in 2024 it will expand its business model to the wellness and spa sector, a move with which it expects to expand its audience. In addition, Isensi also plans to market the cabin this year in markets such as France, Germany, and Switzerland, while planning to extend its activity to the Middle East and Scandinavian countries in 2025.

The benefits that the cabin can represent for dependent people or those with reduced mobility are being analyzed at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital. The center is preparing a study on the effects that this product generates on its patients, both in the field of cognitive improvement and on an emotional level.
