The hands that build architecture

When we enter a building, we often notice its shape, volumes, or materials. But we rarely think about the hands behind it: the artisans who have worked the stone, ceramics, glass, wood, or metal to make that space unique. This is the idea championed by ÚNICO, the first arts and crafts gallery, which this summer presents Arquitectura | Oficis (Architecture | Crafts), an exhibition that brings great architecture studios into dialogue with master artisans to recover the value of manual labor, knowledge of materials, and the entire process that precedes a finished design.

The exhibition brings together pieces created from real projects by studios such as RCR Arquitectes, b720, Batlle i Roig, or Bofill Taller d’Arquitectura, among others, and champions the role of artisan crafts that, over time, have been losing presence in the construction process.
