SeQura will invest ten million euros in the next two years to create an innovation center in Barcelona. It will be located in the offices it opened at the end of 2020. The headquarters on Alí Bei street has a total area of 2,700 square meters and the new center will occupy 25% of the offices, with about 675 square meters.
The Barcelona-based technology company will hire a total of 150 professionals for this new center in the next twelve months. Hiring has already begun. Currently, the fintech has a staff of 179 employees in the Catalan capital.
Founded in 2014, SeQura offers different solutions for online payments, allowing them to be made in installments or to delay collection. It also dedicates itself to generating the necessary technology so that its users can avoid queues in stores or obtain financing without having to carry out too many procedures. Brands such as La Redoute, Maisons du Monde, AliExpress, Phone House, Miró, Kelme, Huawei, Venca, EF or Game work with them.
In the new center, the company expects to devise mechanisms that allow, for example, secure transactions in online stores in just one click, without having to register or provide personal data. Within the framework of this new innovation strategy, SeQura has joined Tech Barcelona as a global partner.
