Barcelona continues to add players to its financial innovation ecosystem. British fintech Dojo has opened an office in the city to strengthen its presence in the Spanish market, after landing in Madrid in May. The opening is the company's sixth in Europe, where it also operates in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The new office in the city, located in Poblenou, is part of the company's growth strategy, whose parent company invoiced 278 million euros in the United Kingdom in 2023 with its payment tools and technologies, in a context in which the city is attracting international scale fintechs and has incorporated the financial hub located in the Stock Exchange.
With its opening in the city, the company plans to accelerate its activity in Europe, as well as strengthen the quality of its customer service and attract professionals to the company. The Barcelona office comes after the group has launched offices in London, Bristol, Hull and Dublin, in addition to Madrid.
Since landing in the Spanish market, the fintech has launched several solutions that facilitate the digitalization of the Horeca channel, such as a technology for managing reservations, spaces and diners to optimize the capacity of the premises. Globally, the company provides its solutions to more than 150,000 companies in Europe.
Dojo has chosen Barcelona to boost its activity because the city "is a perfect place to advance the growth objectives set for this year," according to Javier Jover, the company's general director in Spain. In addition, according to Jover, "the multicultural character of the city allows us to incorporate and attract the best talent."
