The use of the EU Digital Covid Certificate is extended in Catalonia starting Friday, December 3. It will have to be presented to access the interior of bars and restaurants, gyms, and also for visits to nursing homes. The document was already required in nightlife venues, indoor standing music festivals, and celebrations with dancing in enclosed spaces.
How to download the EU Digital Covid Certificate?
To download the certificate or have it in physical format, there are two ways:
- Download the La Meva Salut application on your mobile phone or consult lamevasalut.gencat.cat on your computer. Once inside this digital space, you can obtain it by accessing the Vaccines and EU Digital Covid Certificate section. If you are not registered with La Meva Salut, you can do so easily through the same website: lamevasalut.gencat.cat/alta.
- It can also be acquired on any website or app of a public health service.
How does it work?
The Digital Covid Certificate is the only valid document, as its authenticity can be verified through its QR code. No other vaccination proof is valid.
People who do not have a health card from the Catalan Health System and, therefore, do not have a CIP, can obtain the negative covid-19 diagnostic test certificate with their DNI through https://certificatproves.catsalut.gencat.cat

All people over 13 years of age are obliged to present the covid certificate in the areas where it is necessary. Only minors who have not yet turned 13 are exempt.
