In La Florida, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, emerges Módulo, an ecological and cultural center developed by the Contorno Urbano foundation. Created from a shipping container, it has served to revitalize a previously degraded area and provide a space for social interaction in a very dense urban fabric. Next to the train tracks, residents have found a space to meet and engage in educational, cultural, and leisure activities communally.

Contorno Urbano, specialized in energizing spaces with art, especially murals, has been the initiative awarded this year with the Lluís Carulla prize for the best transformative project. The foundation will receive 70,000 euros to develop the project, which it aims to export to other metropolitan cities such as Sant Vicenç dels Horts, and to receive support from cultural and business mentors for two years.

On the other hand, the Cultural Llobregat Block Party association has received the award for the best idea for its promotion of rap battles in Catalan with Periferia Gold Battle. The award, endowed with 30,000 euros, will allow them the incubation and prototyping of the project and to receive support from cultural and business mentors for one year. The project promoters plan to form a small human and technical team to professionalize the project and begin implementing it in the Barcelona metropolitan area.

The Lluís Carulla 2022 award received a total of 200 candidacies, of which only seven reached the final phase. The finalists in the Best Project category were Recòndit, Filmpedia.cat, and Ojalá Projects-Artistes en Acollida. The finalists in the Best Idea category were Pixi.Click and La Nut.

The Carulla Foundation has also awarded the Francesc Candel 2022 Prize to audiovisual artist Melisa Ramírez and the Babel Punt de Trobada Foundation, focused on offering artistic and technical training in the format of radio and music workshops aimed at immigrants. The award, endowed with 15,000 euros, promotes projects that foster the inclusion of migrants through art and culture. This award received a total of 26 projects, and the finalists were Maria Hervás from Teatre Nu and the social entity Arrels i Branques, and fashion designer Ernest Costafreda and the Popular Cooperative of Street Vendors of Barcelona.
