The iconic British brand Fred Perry has chosen Barcelona to open a new flagship store, specifically, at Rambla Catalunya 131, one of the city's most sought-after commercial areas. The new establishment, which will open its doors next April, will become one of the firm's largest stores in Southern Europe.

The operation was advised by the real estate consultancy Laborde Marcet and involved the lease and unification of two commercial premises to create a unique space. This new point of sale is conceived as the brand's main reference in the Spanish market, where it currently has two physical stores, one in Madrid and another in Barcelona, located on Carrer del Rec.

With this opening, the British firm reinforces its presence in Spain and makes a determined commitment to Rambla Catalunya  as a strategic enclave within premium retail. This is an area with high visibility, significant pedestrian traffic, and a notable concentration of international brands, key factors for the positioning of global firms.

The future flagship has been designed as an experiential space aligned with the brand's international strategy, where design, architecture, and the shopping experience will play a central role. The objective is to offer customers a deeper connection with the firm's universe, beyond the product.

Laborde Marcet highlights that this operation confirms the consolidation of Rambla Catalunya as one of the main premium commercial hubs in Southern Europe. In this regard, they emphasize that brands are increasingly looking for prime locations and unique spaces that reinforce their identity and their relationship with the customer.

The operation has been led by Clara Matías, director of Retail High Street, and Gerard Marcet, founding partner of the consultancy, and is part of a growing trend of major international brands that are betting on Barcelona as a key point in their expansion. "The choice of Rambla Catalunya by a brand like Fred Perry confirms the strength of this axis as one of the main premium commercial hubs in Southern Europe. This is a very relevant operation both for the location and for the size of the project and the brand's long-term commitment to Barcelona," explains Clara Matías.

Founded in 1952 by tennis player Fred Perry alongside Tibby Wegner, the firm has consolidated itself as an international benchmark for premium sportswear. Headquartered in London and with a presence in some of the world's main commercial hubs, the brand continues to strengthen its global positioning with strategic openings such as the one in Barcelona. From Moda, the firm's partner company in Spain, they highlight that this new flagship represents a key step in its growth strategy in the country. Barcelona is an ideal environment to deploy a more ambitious and experiential store concept.
