The IESE business school of the University of Navarra offers the sixth best MBA in the world and the best in Europe according to the annual ranking for 2018 recently published by The Economist magazine.
The top five positions in this international ranking of business schools are occupied by universities in the United States. This year's leader is the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, followed by the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and Harvard Business School. In fourth place is the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, while the fifth position goes to the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.
Among the top 20 MBA programs in the world, there are three European ones. In addition to IESE, the HEC School of Management in Paris appears in 13th place, the MBA from the British Warwick Business School in 18th, and the French INSEAD in 19th.
Three other Spanish business schools appear in the ranking of the top 100 MBA programs in the world. These are ESADE (in position number 46), IE (63) and EADA (100).
The Economist's study on the best MBA programs in the world offers information on the new average salary obtained by graduates upon completing the program and the percentage increase it represents over the salary they had before taking it. It also indicates the percentage of graduates who have found a job after three months.
Other comparative data offered by The Economist's ranking are the cost of the MBA and its duration in months. In 16 of the top 20 programs in the ranking, the price is above $100,000. Additionally, the average years of work experience of students taking the MBA are indicated.
The ranking is based on surveys conducted with current students and graduates of MBA programs, on data provided by the schools, and on results obtained in previous editions of the study. The Economist takes into account aspects related to the generation of new professional opportunities, personal development and educational experience, salary improvement, and the potential of the network of contacts (networking).
