The angry Barcelona women

Along with the virtual internet revolution, which has managed to annihilate the facts of the world to create a parallel life of tedious entertainment, the greatest mutation my eyes will see (awaiting a hypothetical Third World War) will be the changes in the social status of women. For many centuries, males have used women as a symptom of our delusions, which has led to behaviors as different as using their bodies to practice onanism or occupying any corner of power to relegate them to serving coffee, among other forms of systemic violence. All of this has changed radically and, despite women slowly penetrating (sic.) the world of politics and capital - of commanding and getting rich, that is - the historical progression will be slower than their desires. But, even if it weighs on males, in the future we will stabilize while they will ascend.

Men have forcibly adapted to women's desires for freedom, pretending that we liked to deconstruct ourselves with a rather laughable feigned empathy. But let's stop with the nonsense; in terms of ideology, great structural changes in thought always occur because of an imperative. In this sense, the ladies of the country have done well to stop demanding such basic things as not killing them or not stealing their jobs and have moved to action in a much more systemic way. All of this has radically changed the human landscape, and now we can already see many women naturally acting as cute-aggressive entrepreneurs, podcasters cultural, or writers who monopolize the neo-rural novel with poetic pretensions. No matter how much we say otherwise, this causes an oceanic laziness in almost all males; but at least now we have the decency to shut up.

In this sense, it is normal that the demonstrations of each 8-M are a rather folkloric, minority phenomenon, overflowing with banners in Spanish. In the case at hand, Barcelona women have already become accustomed to exercising their power without the need to play the "procesista" and go out into the streets dressed as folkloric figures in search of the most original slogan. This also happens in most civilized countries around us and in highly modern cities like Barcelona, where 8-M will go more unnoticed than Dijous Gras, since the powerful women of the world already have enough work directing countries and companies to organize demonstrations. Even so, I notice that Barcelona women are still angry; the youngest, because they must bear the cross of femininity living precariously and the most mature, because they have deconstructed the male in such a radical way that they have turned him into an exceedingly boring being.

Walking through our beloved city, one can immediately detect this anger so perceptible in the female sector. While men wander through the Eixample in search of catching the kind gaze of a fellow citizen or crossing paths with one of those voluptuous mothers who endow the neighborhood with the hope of a flirt, we immediately see how - for some years now - our fellow citizens run through the world in a hurry, look at us with poorly disguised disgust and, in the case of the experienced woman, avoid crossing our gaze because they know that we are no longer allowed to be courteous with them. I know that today I am writing notions that are too abstract, but changes are that nebulous; Barcelona women are angry, furious with us, even though - in my particular case - we have dedicated a very significant part of our lives to satisfying them. Annoyed for reasons we don't quite understand, Barcelona women put on a bitter face.

I try to understand them. Despite managing to become part of the social elevator, with goals such as becoming part of national monologuism on the stages of Cruïlla (often without being funny at all), canceling a comedian for kissing an adult girl in a car before having a months-long relationship with her, or something as stimulating as being Oriol Junqueras' right-hand man and enjoying being in the most powerful deputy mayoralties in the country... women still seem angry. I would say that the only thing we can do to help them is to disappear completely or become interesting again without representing any kind of alteration in their lives. These are terribly difficult prerequisites, but with perseverance, they can be achieved. Until the Apocalypse of men arrives, to be honest, we will continue to pretend that we like the current situation, showing ourselves to be understanding, docile, tedious, and highly dispensable.
