To enjoy haute cuisine proposals adapted to all tastes and audiences. This is the objective with which Passeig de Gourmets was born, the festival that dresses Passeig de Gràcia in haute cuisine with Michelin-starred tapas and sandwiches. In its eighth edition, which takes place from this Thursday, March 13, until Sunday, March 23, the festival, in addition to its usual offer of signature dishes and sandwiches, through which Michelin proposals can be tasted for less than 10 euros, will also include experiences such as musical dinners or menus to enjoy the "tardeo" (afternoon-evening social event).

Passeig de Gràcia is positioned as one of the only streets in the world that concentrates so many Michelin stars on a single promenade, tied only by the distinguished city of Paris. This is the reason why, year after year, since 2018, the Passeig de Gràcia Association celebrates the gastronomic festival on this central street of the city. In this year's edition, which is part of the celebration of Catalonia as World Region of Gastronomy 2025, twenty restaurants participate, the vast majority located within luxurious hotels. In its previous edition, the festival attracted more than 1,000 foodies and sold up to 14,000 dishes and 2,500 tasting menus.

Passeig de Gourmets joins the "tardeo" trend

In addition to its classic offer of signature dishes, Passeig de Gourmets has also wanted to join the "tardeo" trend this year. Thus, five of the participating restaurants will offer a menu to share between two people for 45 euros that includes a dish and a signature sandwich, accompanied by olives, potato chips and two drinks to enjoy haute cuisine at all hours of the day, even in the afternoon.

Among the proposals, one can taste innovative dishes such as a Galician beef sirloin sandwich with sardine cream or a pumpkin ravioli with Borredà cheese and vegetable demi-glace, to more traditional dishes such as surf and turf meatballs or pickled artichoke with a slice of Iberian ham. The other great novelty of the edition will be the musical dinners, during which the most sophisticated dishes of the edition will be enlivened with notes of jazz, classical music or DJ sessions to savor haute cuisine not only through the sense of taste and smell, but also through hearing. Three restaurants, Hotel Casa Fuster, Mr. Porter and Monument Hotel, will offer tasting menus with prices around 80 euros and which will include a varied gastronomic offer.

Signature dishes for all audiences

The already traditional tapas route will include for 10 euros with a drink included up to 11 culinary proposals to quickly enjoy high gastronomy.Creative tapas such as the acevichada red shrimp croquette, a terrine of beef cheeks on puff pastry butter bread or the sirloin tataki, ponzu and cilantro, some great-tasting dishes accompanied by a glass of beer, cava or tonic.

In addition, Passeig de Gourmets also reinforces the format of signature sandwiches, with variable prices between 14 and 20 euros. "A proposal that demystifies that fast food cannot be gourmet, because between bread and bread you can also offer pure gastronomy," defends Carme Ruscalleda, one of the festival's ambassador chefs, along with Martin Berasategui.

In total, the festival will offer up to ten proposals to enjoy high cuisine in the fastest and closest way, among which are a sandwich of Iberian pork loin, a charcoal-grilled octopus roll or an Iberian cheek brioche, which also offer the option of gluten-free bread. The sandwiches also include a drink in the price (a glass of beer, cava or tonic).

To finish this route through high gastronomy with a sweet taste, the festival also offers the option of enjoying pastries, which will seduce sweet lovers. With a price of 8 euros, you can taste everything from the classic tiramisu or lemon sponge cake, to innovative desserts such as the Waldorf salad dessert or a speculoos eclair with raspberry crumble topping.

For those looking to enjoy a more extensive and relaxed offer, Passeig de Gourmets also offers the option of gourmet menus, priced at 55 euros, to savor creations by renowned chefs in unique spaces in Barcelona, high-cuisine proposals "with a very marked gastronomic discourse, created specifically for the festival," as Ruscalleda points out. Restaurants such as Sintonia or Solomillo and hotels such as Claris Hotel or Majestic Hotel will offer these menus, which also include the option of cava pairing for 70 euros. In addition to the extensive gastronomic offer, the festival will also be complemented by showcooking events to observe firsthand how a professional chef cooks, or even experiences such as cocktail classes to take us on a journey around the world.
