Shein returns to Barcelona with a pop-up store in Portal de l'Àngel, at number 15. This time, the displayed products can indeed be purchased and also tried on. This responds to the disappointment of the many people who queued for hours to enter the ephemeral store that the Chinese giant opened at the beginning of July, where one could only see the clothes, without being able to take them home and giving the only option of keeping the references to order online and wait for the package to arrive.
"Spain has always been one of the most important markets for Shein," says Joe Zhao, Director of Marketing and Sales in Europe. The fast-fashion brand does not specify the investment made or the jobs created with the opening in Portal de l'Àngel. For the moment, the company does not plan to open permanent physical stores and maintains its focus on online shopping.
With 900 square meters spread over two floors, more than 25,000 references of women's fashion can be found in the store, as well as a smaller selection of clothing for men and children. There are also home products, costume jewelry, and makeup. Although everything can be purchased in person, by going through the checkout, the labels include QR codes that direct to the Shein website in case one prefers to order online.
In addition to the displayed products, the firm has included a space for getting nails done and another for having a coffee or hot chocolate. For those shopping with family, there is also a space designed for children.
Shein's ephemeral store opens this Saturday, November 19, until Tuesday, November 29, not including Sundays, November 20 and 27. Opening hours are from 10 in the morning until 8 at night.
