Sara Blanch

London will be the next big stop in the career of soprano Sara Blanch. The Catalan singer will debut at the Royal Opera House, one of the most prestigious stages in international lyrical singing, a step that consolidates her among the sopranos with the greatest international projection of the moment. Blanch will assume the leading role —Marie— in the performances of Gaetano Donizetti's La fille du régiment on July 7, 10, 14, and 17 alongside the acclaimed tenor Juan Diego Flórez. The debut at Covent Garden is the icing on the cake of a season marked by performances on major lyrical stages, such as the Opéra National de Paris, La Scala di Milano and, more recently, at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, where she has played Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro (from June 5 to 21).

Born in 1989 in Darmós (Ribera d'Ebre), Blanch trained at the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona, where she obtained a higher degree in singing. Her career experienced a decisive boost in 2016, when she won eight awards at the Francesc Viñas International Singing Competition. Throughout her career, she has performed roles by composers such as Mozart, Rossini, Bellini, and Donizetti in theaters such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Teatro Real de Madrid, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Zurich Opera, the Opéra National de Paris, La Scala di Milano, and the Rossini Festival in Pesaro.
