Barcelona adds a new space dedicated to industrial innovation with the launch of INNOHUB IQS-Planta Piloto, an infrastructure of more than 2,000 square meters designed to connect research, business, and technology transfer. Driven by IQS (Institut Químic de Sarrià) with an investment of seven million euros, the new center is born with the aim of accelerating projects linked to Industry 5.0, sustainability, advanced manufacturing, and new technologies applied to production. The inauguration of the hub places the institution in a new dimension within the city's scientific and industrial ecosystem, reinforcing its role as a bridge between knowledge and business activity.

At the helm of IQS is Salvador Borrós, a chemical engineer, professor at Ramon Llull University, and general director of the institution since 2020. Linked to the university teaching center for decades, he has developed a career marked by research in biomaterials, nanomedicine, and gene therapy, in addition to leading research groups in materials science and bioengineering. His career has been closely linked to the transfer of knowledge to industry and the creation of new business initiatives arising from the scientific field. With the inauguration of INNOHUB, Borrós culminates one of the most ambitious projects promoted by IQS in recent years.
