The D-Hub decarbonization and electromobility project, one of the options to reindustrialize Nissan, has presented its investment plan of 305 million euros to obtain European funds that the Ministry of Industry will channel through the reindustrialization plan for electric vehicles (Perte VEC).
The D-Hub project, promoted by the companies QEV Technologies and Btech, with the support of Improva and FI Group, foresees the development of new projects and business models to create an ecosystem of companies around electromobility, the generation of qualified jobs and focusing the economy towards the future mobility needs of citizens and the growth of the digital economy. All of this, occupying a part of the facilities that the Japanese multinational Nissan occupied until December 2020 in the Zona Franca industrial estate in Barcelona.
The consortium highlights that 93% of the project is in the hands of SMEs, as they have brought together a total of 18 companies from a wide variety of sectors and capabilities, from recently created startups, through family, international and cutting-edge technology companies, to companies listed on the IBEX35, to carry out the D-Hub project. In addition, they have extensive territorial representation, both in Catalonia, and in the Valencian Community, the Basque Country and Cantabria.
These are the companies Applus+ Laboratories, Biofreshtech, Cellnex Telecom, Hub Tech Factory, ePowerlabs, Limpieza Nervión, Lunagua, Millor Battery, Nogebus, Nutai, Power Electronics, Relats, S2 Grupo, Tradebe, Wallbox and Zeleros.
As a whole, the consortium groups a total of 30 investment projects in new electromobility technologies and focused on new, more sustainable production processes. The new developments range from the generation of new batteries and ultra-fast chargers or the development of hydrogen-powered passenger transport vehicles, to mobile cybersecurity technology for connection with electric vehicles, among many others.
