With its new architectural project located in the heart of Barcelona, Porcelanosa reaffirms itself as the reference brand for architects and interior designers and as a company that is always at the forefront, thanks to two elements that have been part of its DNA since its birth fifty years ago: a passion for design and innovation.
In this project, the Porcelanosa team has collaborated with the Blanch + Conca Arquitectura (BCA) studio. The company is a regular supplier to many other prestigious firms, such as Batlle i Roig, Francesc Rifé, Ribas y Ribas, L35, Carlos Ferrater, and Lázaro Rosa Violán.
"The differential quality of our product and the service we offer clearly establish us as the reference brand for interior design and architecture professionals, whom we assist in material selection and provide with digital tools that help them design their projects," explains Pedro Marchante, manager of Porcelanosa in Catalonia.
According to Marchante, Barcelona and the Catalan market as a whole represent a strategic area. Catalonia constitutes its second largest market by business volume in Spain, only behind Madrid. "We strongly believe in Catalonia and its potential for growth," highlights Marchante, who anticipates that the business group plans to open new proprietary stores in the territory in the medium term, which will join the three it currently has on Diagonal Avenue, in Plaza Europa in L'Hospitalet, and in Girona.
"Our plans involve continuing to grow in Catalonia, both in terms of team and with new points of sale in cities where we see potential," states the manager, who emphasizes the strong fit between Porcelanosa and the medium-high client profile that characterizes the Catalan market, also important for the brand as a prominent player in the hotel and luxury housing sectors.
Another sign of this delegation's growth ambition is that Catalonia will manage the business in Andorra, a country where the company has just established a subsidiary.
Marchante assures that Porcelanosa's plans "involve continuing to grow in Catalonia, both in terms of team and with new points of sale in locations where we see potential"However, large projects and the professional channel are not the only raison d'être of Porcelanosa, which, since its origins, has focused on satisfying the needs of individual clientsthat come to theirshowroomsin search of inspiration to renovate their bathrooms, their kitchens or build their new home.
"The advice we provide to private clients is unique in the market. At Porcelanosa, we do not compete on price, but on service and on marketing a very wide range of products that covers all finishes, something that not all brands can offer," points out the manager.
100% family-owned, Porcelanosa Grupo is a business holding, a leader in the manufacture of ceramic products, kitchen and bathroom furniture, as well as architectural solutions —such as ventilated facades and modular systems— that make it a benchmark in the growing segment of industrialized construction.
The Spanish multinational reached a turnover of 900 million euros in 2023 and has a presence in 140 countries, with a network of more than 1,200 points of sale and 65 logistics centers distributed worldwide.
Product diversification and personalized attention
In its diversification strategy, Porcelanosa Grupo offers a wide catalog: kitchen and bathroom furniture, natural stone and wood, and new generation materials, such as Krion. "We are not just ceramics, we cover a very wide range of products and, thanks to our advice, we help the client hit the nail on the head," assures Marchante.
To innovation, design, technology, product quality, and optimal customer service, Porcelanosa adds two other pillars, which were key since its foundation: environmental protection and the creation of sustainable products.
With a team of 80 people, in Porcelanosa Catalunya, in addition to owning three stores, the brand operates through a network of 30 distributors and has a logistics center on Dolors Aleu street in L'Hospitalet, where its offices are also located. From these facilities, the sales team of the Catalan delegation provides advice to the professional channel: architects, interior designers, developers, hoteliers, and builders. In parallel, professionals also visit the showrooms in L'Hospitalet, Barcelona, and Girona.
In Porcelanosa stores, private and professional clients find an extensive display of materials, models, and finishes, as well as inspiring recreations of different areas of a home. Through a sophisticated computer program, Porcelanosa shows clients the renders of how their project will look with the selected materials, which are also delivered directly to the construction site.
Trends in Porcelanosa stores
Large-format porcelain pieces, industrialized construction solutions, and open kitchens equipped with an island with invisible induction hobs are the main proposals observed when entering one of Porcelanosa's stores, along with ceramic floorings that imitate wood.
On the other hand, there is a strong commitment to natural stone and sustainable materials. Another major trend promoted by the renowned firm is to extend the use of ceramics to other less common rooms in the house, such as on living room or bedroom walls. Marchante also emphasizes the strong growth of the business in the kitchen line, offering a turnkey service that includes design, production, and complete installation. This is possible thanks to the high professionalism of the in-house design team and the high level of detail and quality of the materials used in Porcelanosa Grupo's production centers.
Once a year, Porcelanosa organizes in Catalunya the so-called Open Day, an event aimed at professionals, which takes place in its store in Plaza Europa and where the novelties and launches of the group's different brands are presented. In its last edition, held last April, more than three hundred people attended.
In parallel, in its showroom on Avenida Diagonal, Porcelanosa organizes round tables, presentations, and even showcookings throughout the year. In these events, the novelties of the different firms of the business group are unveiled. For its part, in round tables and conferences, Porcelanosa brings together professionals from the sector to identify trends and share experiences.
Additionally, twice a year, the Porcelanosa Days campaign is held, during which customers access exclusive discounts on the different products and materials from the various brands. The next campaign will begin on September 20 and end on October 5.
